KFSensor

Local Sensor Configuration

Use the Local Sensor Configuration dialog box to configure the connection with the KFSensor server.

  • Sensor ID
The Sensor ID is recorded with each event to enable its source to be identified.
Each installation of KFSensor should be given its own unique Sensor ID.
  • Admin port
The KFSensor monitor and server communicate with each other using sockets on the admin port.
The KFSensor server listens for TCP connections on this port.
The KFSensor monitor listens for UDP connections on this port.
Any valid port number can be used for the admin port. However it is advised that you do not use a well known port number or a number of a port being used by a listen setting.
  • Log Level

This setting controls the amount of information sent to the system log.
This should normally be set to INFO.
If this is set to DEBUG extra information is logged that may be useful for tracking down problems.
